In light of the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest being cancelled due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) The Gigzter has decided to hold a special version of Eurovision in place of the Official contest.

We will be having a Eurovision: Greatest Hits contest featuring the songs from Eurovision since 2004! We will be having two semi-finals with a 42 country final (Similar to the official format). Entry songs will be chosen by fans through polls we will be putting out and the semi-finals and final will be broadcast on our website or on our YouTube channel.

Considering all of the mayhem and panicking with COVID-19 and country lockdowns we thought it would be a great idea to bring some fun and entertainment to households with a little bit of fun! We think it will be interesting to see how many past winners get chosen and whether any past winners can win again.

We are awaiting permission from Eurovision Officials for use of their material, however, if we can’t then we will think of something. We hope you will get involved and us with the live semi-finals and final!

The dates will be the same as the official contest. The 12th May will be the first semi-final, the 14th May will be the second semi-final and the final will be the 16th May. Viewers will be able to vote for their favourites like in the official version – but not until all songs have been played!

We should receive confirmation of whether we have permission, from Eurovision, or not.

In the meantime, we will be putting up polls for your country entries! To vote for Austria’s entry click the link below!

We hope you stay safe and stay inside unless it’s essential!
